Classroom Management
As you prepare for your class each block, there are resources available to help manage your classroom experience.
Identifying your classroom for your teaching block
Each block your classroom belongs solely to you and your class and you may leave the room set up for your needs from day to day. Classrooms are assigned prior to each block and we work to assign your class to a room that meets your teaching needs.
Preparing your classroom
Please visit your classroom prior to the block you will be teaching to ensure that you understand the resources available to you and so that you can make any requests for necessary adjustments.
Classroom environment
If there are issues with the furnishings or classroom physical functions (window blinds, power outlets, ripped carpet, etc.) please complete a facilities work order. If you need office supplies like chalk, chalkboard erasers, whiteboard markers, etc. contact Academic Affairs at academicaffairs@cornellcollege.edu.
Classroom technology set-up
The office of Information Technology ensures that every classroom has a standard set-up of technology tools. If the classroom you will be using has additional technology that you are unfamiliar with or does not have specific technology that you need for your class, please plan ahead and create an IT work order to request a demo of equipment or specific technology needs for your classroom. To ensure your classroom is ready for you, it’s best to submit this request during the block before your class begins (or before the academic year for Block 1 classes.)
